Ciarra Grobe, MS
CEO
Hello! I am Ciarra and I have loved gardening ever since I was a small child. It is a joy for that to be something I now share with my family...even my cats!
Aside from running a small business, I also have several years of experience as a restorative justice practitioner in a variety of community based and educational settings.

CFO
Sebastian has a hard time sitting still and is always working on something, whether it's supporting Ciarra with her gardening ambitions, hanging with our two girls, volunteering as the lead gardener of the neighbor's 20 acres of association greenspace, working as an analyst at Exact Sciences, or disc golfing.
He's always eager to learn and grow in whatever form that may be!
Hello! We are the Grobe Family: Sebastian, Ciarra, Amira and Elena Grobe.
Seb and I started gardening when we moved into our home back in 2017. The yard was an overgrown disaster that was full of so much potential. We wanted to have a baby and gardened our hearts out while we waited for it to be our time.
Becoming parents took us longer than originally anticipated. It was an extremely difficult and emotional journey. We desperately wanted to be parents and coped by tending to our yard, spending way too much money on plants while simultaneously building community within our neighborhood.
With the help of fertility specialists as well as family and community support, we were lucky enough to have two incredibly fierce girls and now do a spring family photoshoot every year in our yard (Shout out to our incredible photographer, Don Newton!). Each year when spring comes, we remember how fortunate we are to have the family that we have always wished and hoped for as well as the family bonding and passion that tending to our flowers has brought us.
Our family garden started to expand during the pandemic. Sebastian and I were new parents trying to cope with the isolation we were experiencing and so we created a huge addition to our gardens by ripping up the majority of our front yard.
From there, we added Elena Marie to the family and started to rapidly expand our collection of spring bulbs, irises, daylilies and other perennials.
Once again, we ran out of room and expanded to the strip by our road. We then got an incredible gift from our nextdoor neighbor, Bob. Bob graciously ripped up the entire side of his yard for us to extend Grobe Gardens into his yard and to have a blank canvas to display our quickly growing iris collection.
Grobe Gardens was officially established on June 21st, 2024. We have 250+ unique iris varieties, 100+ unique daylily varieties and dozens of other perennials. We sell flowers out of our home during peak times of the spring, summer and fall, we sell cutflower bouquets from May through early October and we hold seasonal garden walks during the peak bloom period of each season.
